the Pool - GLAssware & Heels

Accidents happen. A broken glass on the deck where everyone is barefoot is dangerous. Best to keep all glassware indoors. Also, NO heels in the pool as they will puncture the pool liner. For your safety, NO DIVING.

The Hot Tub

Hopping in the hot tub? Take a rinse in the outdoor shower as lotions, sand, sea salt, etc. will damage the filters, pumps, and motors. Cover hot tub when it is not being used for an extended period of time (especially at night) to conserve energy. At the end of your stay please turn down the heat to 80. Do not sit or put any weight on the hot tub cover.

STrangers

We all love meeting new friends, but we won’t know if this unknown guest is just a lost boy. Be a good host - introduce your friend. Just remember you are responsible for them and their actions and they shouldn’t be left unaccompanied while at the house.

Intimacy

This is The Pines. We know. Be kind. Water friendly is always best. Getting frisky in the hot tub or the pool? Please don’t go all the way while still in the water.

Parties

We like to have a good time just like you. We enjoy having gatherings throughout the season. However, we’re not in a constant state of partying. Please respect the house as if it were your own.

For weekly rentals, Events (whole house parties) are strictly prohibited.

Smoking & Recreation

In The Pines, the houses are all made out of wood. Please no smoking indoors and always use an ashtray outside. Getting recreational? Be safe and responsible. If you end up being disruptive or unstable, you won’t be invited back.

FOOD & BOOZE

We want you to feel at home. Please contribute so that all the responsibilities are not just on one person. No need to hide food or booze, The Pantry and Pines Liqour are just around the corner. Each weekend, we settle all food and beverage expenses evenly between the housemates.

PETS

We love pets, but some of our housemates are allergic. Best to arrange for your pet to be taken care of back at home.

MUSIC & NOISE

Twirl baby Twirl. Please be mindful of our housemates and neighbors. Sonos has “zones” that you can control within your specific zone. It’s never pretty to wake a housemate that is sleeping.

ROOM OCCUPANCY

Room rates are based on a 2-person double occupancy; the house sleeps 8 maximum.

AC & UTILITIES

Please remember to conserve when you can. The A/C units are incredibly efficient. No need to keep it on all day long when not in your room. If the A/C is on, close the doors and windows.

Grill - Please turn off the grill and the tank when not in use

PLUMBING

The house runs on a septic system. Please flush toilet paper and what nature provides only. Booty wipes can clog the pipes and no one wants to deal with the consequences of that…

Cleaning

Haven’t taken out the trash during the weekend? It’s probably your turn. Help avoid ants as much as possible. Need fresh towels? Washer and dryer is located in the shed on the back deck. Towels get soiled quickly in the Pines! We encourage you to do a couple loads over the weekend, so that you may continue to have clean and fresh towels available for you and your guests during your stay.

House Security

Unfortunately there have been the occasional robbery in The Pines – they come in an unlocked house and look for things that are valuable and easy to grab (laptops, iPads, iPhones, cash).  When you leave the house for an extended period of time, you should consider locking the doors and/or make sure that valuables are not visible.

Check-IN and Check-Out

Arrive Thursday after 4pm, Depart following Wednesday by 11am. We need time for the housekeeper to turn the house around for the next group of guys, everyone likes to arrive to a clean and happy home.
